What is Brazilian Waxing
With Brazilian Style waxing, the hair in the intimate area is removed with a type of wax known as film wax or hard wax. This method comes from Brazil, hence the name. The nice thing about waxing, in contrast to shaving, is that you can get rid of annoying hairs for several weeks not only a few days. Since with waxing the hairs are removed together with hair follicles, we notice the growth of fewer and thinner hairs.
Brazilian Waxing Styles
Depending on personal preference, season or occasion, your may choose from a variety of intimate waxing styles. In addition to some more classic options, there are no limits to the imagination when it comes to patterns and shapes. At the moment the ‘Full Brazilian Style’ or the ‘Hollywood Style’ are particularly popular. It means I remove all the hairs in the bikini line as well as on the labia and the buttock crack. However, many clients also decide to leave a narrow strip of hair.
Process for a Successful Intimate Waxing
Removal of intimate area is similar to peeling an onion. I work from the outside in. First, I remove hairs in the bikini area. This is usually outside of your panty line. The area inside your panty line is known as the intimate zone. So, the next step is to gradually start removing hair in this area and continue towards the center until I have removed all the hairs.
What is the Secret of a Perfect Intimate Waxing?
1. High quality wax. My wax is very gentle on the intimate skin thanks to its low application temperature and a unique blend of oils. Hairs in the intimate area often grow in different directions, they are usually a few millimeters short, and can also be very bristly. My hard wax grips even the most stubborn hair and can be used multidirectional. It is much more pleasant than waxes that are removed using wax strips aka soft wax. My film wax shrink-wraps to the hair as it dries gripping the hair for removal. It does not stick to the skin. Film wax remains flexible on the skin for a long time, any number of patches can be applied at the same time, and the wax is always easy to remove.
2. Waxing technique. To wax the entire bikini area, my client lies in a position of a butterfly, this way I can apply wax easily. If my client has problems with her hips, I can roll my client to the left and right. I apply the wax with a bit of a pressure and pull the skin tight by either having my client pull tight or myself. I reposition the client for the buttock crack. The skin is also held taught as the strips are removed.
Other Things to Know
For best results, repeat your professional waxing every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the area and your individual hair growth rate. You may notice a small amount of re-growth after a week or so, because it can take up to 4 waxing treatments (4-6 weeks apart) for your hair to fall into a growth cycle that gives the best waxing results. Do NOT shave or tweeze between waxing appointments. This throws off your hair growth cycle.
