Have the Flawless Skin you Deserve

Do you have visible signs of of aging through dark brown spots, fine lines, broken capillaries (red spider veins), raised bumps on the skin which you cannot remove, embarrassing skin tags? This treatment is a definite must for you.  This procedure can achieve results that some lasers cannot.  You will be amazed with your new clear skin removing conditions you thought were permanent.

Joy Stiers, Licensed Esthetician, uses the Skin Classic machine (Radio Frequency) which works on the epidermis only.  It can be applied precisely to the area to be treated, or, in other words, “treats the weeds and leaves the grass alone”.

Skin Irregularities Treated and NO Laser

Now, a safe, non-invasive treatment that permanently removes unsightly skin growths from your face and body in just one session.  Radio high frequency is one alternative method to laser treating all of these skin irregularities.  Almost instantaneous results are achieved often with only one treatment per lesion. The fine probe that is used barely touches the skin and minimal discomfort is experienced.  Healing time is short and all treatments are performed using the strictest hygienic conditions.

Conditions treated with the Skin Classic

Be ready to fill out a medical questionnaire and describe what medications and skin care
products you are using. I will perform an analysis of your skin, look for any interactions between products and medications, and devise a treatment plan that’s suitable for your unique needs. Be prepared to commit to a series of treatments and a home care regimen. After your professional treatment, I can recommend a home treatment plan, as well as follow-up professional treatments. Your skin may be more sensitive after treatment. Many professional skin care lines provide specialized products that sooth the inflammation of rosacea. Iwill carefully choose products for you that are least likely to irritate your skin.

  • Rosacea

  • Sun/Brown Spots

How Does Skin Classic Work

The fine probe is barely touched to the top of the skin and minimal discomfort is experienced.  All treatments are performed using the strictest hygienic conditions. After the irregularity is treated, a natural scab develops. Within the next few days, the scab will fall off and be replaced by healthy new skin, about the color of the surrounding tissue.  Healing time is short, from a day or two with skin tags to a week with larger abnormalities such as fibromas.  In most cases, there is no visible indication of the previous growth.

Skin Classic provides effective and often permanent treatment for:

Rosacea
A common skin disorder that is estimated to affect well over 16 million Americans. Symptoms include redness on the cheeks, nose, chin, forehead, chest, or scalp, small visible blood vessels on the face, acne-like bumps on the face, and watery or irritated eyes. While rosacea is typically considered harmless unless it affects the eyes, surveys by the National Rosacea Society report that more than 76% of patients said their condition had lowered their self-confidence and self-esteem, and 41% reported that it had caused them to avoid public contact or cancel social engagements.

Spider Vein Removal
Spider veins, wavy, thin, reddish-purple veins, which often appear around your nose or on your legs, can be a result of sun exposure, oral contraceptives, hormone therapy, aging process, acne, or just plain genetics. Although they are not usually a medical concern, they make many people self-conscious about their appearance.  Spider Veins (also known as telangiectasia and varicose veins) are a group of widened veins that can be seen through the surface of the skin. Their wheel-and-spoke shape tends to resemble a spider.

Sun Spot Removal & Age Spot Removal
Sun and age spots are concentrations of melanin in the skin. They can be of any size or shape and may also be slightly elevated on the skin's surface. They are most commonly referred to as freckles and liver and sun spots. These are all considered to be benign. Freckles are most commonly the result of genetics or sun exposure. Freckles caused by sunburns have irregular borders and are typically darker brown than those that are caused by genetics. Sun/liver spots are usually caused by excessive sun exposure, therefore they appear on areas of the body that are frequently exposed to the sun such as the face, hands, shoulders and arms. They can be of any color from light brown to black.

Skin Tag Removal
An acrochordon (a.k.a. skin tag, pedunculated papilloma, or fibroepithelial polyp) is a small benign tumor that forms primarily in areas where the skin forms creases, such as the neck, armpit, and groin. They may also occur on the face, usually on the eyelids. Though larger have been seen, they are usually between the size of a grain of rice and a golf ball. The surface of an acrochordon may be smooth or irregular in appearance. The acrochordon is often raised from the surface of the skin on a fleshy stalk called a peduncle. Microscopically, an acrochordon consists of a fibrovascular core, sometimes also with fat cells, covered by an unremarkable epidermis.  Skin tags are harmless, although they are sometimes irritated by clothing or jewelry and can interfere with shaving and other routine grooming. Why and how skin tags form is not entirely known, but there are correlations with age and obesity. They are more common in people with diabetes mellitus and in pregnant women. Acrochorda have been reported to have an incidence of 46% in the general population. A genetic component (causation) is thought to exist.

Milia Removal
Milia are common non-cancerous skin findings in people of all ages. Milia formed directly from sloughed-off skin are small, fluid filled lesions (cysts) usually found on the face, while lesions formed indirectly are small cysts found within areas of skin affected by another skin condition.  Milia are formed when skin does not slough off normally but instead remains trapped in a pocket on the surface of the skin. An individual milium is formed from a hair follicle or from a sweat gland. In primary milia in infants, the oil gland may not be fully developed. Secondary milia often develop after injury or blistering of the skin, which disrupts and clogs the tubes leading to skin surface. Secondary milia can also develop on the sun-damaged skin of middle-aged and older people.

Sebaceous Hyperplasia Removal
Sebaceous hyperplasia is a disorder of the sebaceous glands in which they become enlarged. These glands are located within the skin and are responsible for secreting an oily substance named sebum. They are commonly associated with hair follicles but they can be found in hairless regions of the skin as well. Their secretion lubricates the skin, protecting it from drying out or becoming irritated. Sebaceous hyperplasia generally affects middle-aged to elderly adults. The symptoms of this condition are 1-5 mm papules on the skin, mainly on the forehead, nose and cheeks, and sebarrhoeic facial skin. The papules may be cauliflower-shaped. Acne is also a symptom of this glandular disorder. It differs from the type of acne that affects adolescents and young adults, in that it is more of an abnormally discolored patch that is not cured by topical treatments alone. The radio frequency works on these while the laser will not because the lasers needs to see a color target - (blood or melanin).

Active Acne Treatment
By using the Skin Classic machine, I am able to get below the surface to force the inflammation/infection out of the skin. This treatment does not remove the acne, just the infection.

Cherry Hemangioma Removal Treatment
Cherry hemangiomas are small vascular irregularities on the surface of the skin that occur commonly as we age. They look like little red spots or bubbles and can appear anywhere on the body. As a general rule, they do not become much larger than an eraser on a pencil. The frequency of cherry hemangiomas increases with age.

Pigmented Lesions Removal
Aging, the elements, genetics and other factors can be detrimental to anyone's complexion. With time, the skin can be damaged, resulting in unsightly lesions that are difficult to hide.

Is it Safe to Treat the Lesions

I strongly encourage you to have your doctor examine any spot that is questionable and I will not treat any lesion that I feel is not safe to do so.

Pre-Care Treatment

Please follow the outline below to prepare. It is recommended that you take the following into consideration:

  • DO use Pure Joy Skin Care products 10 to 14 days prior to treatment. This will prepare the skin, allow for better treatment results and reduce the risk of complications.

  • It is recommended that extended sun exposure be avoided, especially in the 10 days prior to treatment.

  • It is recommended to delay use of Tretinoin, Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac, Avage, EpiDuo, Ziana and high-percentage AHA and BHA products for approximately seven days prior to treatment. Consult your Physician before temporarily discontinuing use of any prescription medications.

  • Treatments may cause slight redness, tightness, peeling, flaking or temporary dryness. Most patients find it unnecessary to apply makeup, as the skin will be smooth, dewy and radiant following treatment. If you would like to apply makeup, allow approximately 15 minutes for the pH of the skin to stabilize before applying foundation.

  • DON'T go to a tanning bed two weeks prior to treatment. This practice should be discontinued due to the increased risk of skin cancer and signs of aging.

  • DON'T have another treatment, unless recommended.

  • DON'T wax, tweeze, or use depilatory creams for 7 days prior.

Post-Treatment Care

After a Skin Classic Treatment it is common to feel:

  • Irritated as well as redness and some crusting may form on areas involved

  • Make sure you DO NOT pick at the crusting because prematurely removing the crust may cause hyperpigmentation or scarring

  • If the area is still irritated by the end of the day a clean baggie of frozen peas works well 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off. Moisturize after with something gentle.

  • Keep your skin clean and moisturized during the day.

  • Makeup may be worn over moisturizing sunscreen.

  • MUST use moisturizing sun block everyday whether it is rainy or snowy. Sun block is your defense against anti-aging.

  • AVOID direct sunlight immediately following treatment.

  • When cleansing the face or showing use mild products without alcohol

  • Pat dry instead of rubbing to prevent removal of crust

  • DO NOT use any other form of peeling or bleaching products for 30 days

  • After crust sloughs the skin may be pink. Be sure to wear SPF 30 or higher

Contraindications

  • Not used during pregnancy.

  • Not used with implanted pace makers or some heart conditions.

  • High blood pressure, anticoagulants may affect treatment.

  • When in doubt about a skin problem I will refer you to your physician.
